Lucha Lucha
I really love the concept of wrestling. Growing up, you see these monsters of men and women beating the life out of each other. I couldn’t stop imagining their world. The rivalry and the fights that weren’t caught on camera. How did Rowdey Rowdey Piper go about his day to stop Hulk Hogan from spreading the love of vitamins and prayers? When I was introduced to both Lucha Libre and M.U.S.C.L.E.(aka Kinnikuman) I was blown away! Wrestlers from SPACE?!! Masked LATINO Wrestlers, with even MORE mystery?! I LOVE IT. I wanted to see more. And between watching “Ultimate Muscle”, Tiger King and Lucha Underground, I really wanted to take time to draw some wrestlers. I really got the push with a Mexican band named “Austin TV” they make(and please correct me if you know more about them) emo instrumental music. You may be asking why I didn’t draw wrestlers before. That’s a good question. I think I was just mostly not thinking as much of it as I have been now. Here are some of the illustrations that were inspired by Austin TV. I will show other wrestling pieces that I have worked on soon. I want to lead up to the big piece I have been working on for the last three weeks. I plan on having posters available via Imprnt and Redbubble. I typically don’t like to post the same art on both sites, but I’m not sure where this specific piece belongs. Imprnt is for my Fine Art Work, and Redbubble is more of my commercial work. My fan art. Enjoy these while I do the finishing touches on the new one I’m working on. I'm looking forward to sharing
