Iron Oni Syndicate (鉄鬼組織)

Ok, so after a while, I made this lady wrestler based off an image I found on Pinterest. I don’t know who she is or anything. I was, however, intrigued by the photo (I’m not including it since I don’t own the rights to the pic). She was cute (still is… maybe, I mean, she’s wearing a mask) and I thought about her backstory. She’s a rough and tough Latina wrestler from the hills of a Spanish-speaking country.. PUERTO RICO!! Where she fought to help her family have food on the table and a roof over their head since her dad got sick. She is the GLAM SLAM LUCHADORA!! Cause she is GLAM-aroud! Get it? The name isn’t the best, but I thought, you know what, I can always change her name later on. It’ll be the evolution of her wrestling career.

Either way,,, I illustrated her, and that got my blood pumping again to draw some wrestlers. So after inspiring myself, I ended up making 鉄鬼組織!!!! The Iron Oni Syndicate. A.K.A. IOS—hahahaha. I didn’t even intend that to be their acronym. Probably can’t use it, but for now I will. I don’t have the best taste for giving my characters names. I do use AI to help me put ideas together, for, in this case, naming my characters based on what I’ve prompted.

In any case, I settled on Iron Oni Syndicate, a.k.a. Iron Oni Syndicate. Seems like a mouthful, but hilarious with their acronym. When I made the poster, I loved what I made, but it still felt empty. I did draw an off-beat wrestler with super long curly hair. After drawing him, I felt he just seemed so vanilla, not even a threat to these two characters.
